When I wrote last week’s sermon prep, I had no idea that we’d all be worshiping from our homes via livestream. One week later and it seems like our world has been flipped on its head. These lines from one of the songs we sang at the close of Sunday service have been running through my mind every day.

I have a shelter in the storm when troubles pour upon me
Though fears are rising like a flood, my soul can rest securely
Oh Jesus, I will hide in you, my place of peace and solace
No trial is deeper than your love that comforts all my sorrows

We have decided to press pause on 1 Corinthians until the Sunday after Easter and take the next two Sundays to preach two passages that speak to Walking by Faith in Times of Trouble.

Jackson Randall will be preaching Psalm 46 this Sunday and Jason Oakes will be preaching Romans 12:12-13 the following Sunday. Would you pray for each as they prepare? I’d encourage you to spend some time in Psalm 46 each day leading up to this Sunday’s live stream worship service.

At the present time, our plan is to continue livestreaming our Sunday services at 9:30am. This week you will not need to use a separate PDF of song lyrics to sing along though. We will display all lyrics at the bottom of the screen.

I was struck this past Sunday by how many gospel preaching churches are all suddenly livestreaming because of the coronavirus. I wonder how many who don’t know Jesus and might never darken the door of a church building on a Sunday were curious and watched one of these livestreams (perhaps ours!). Let’s be praying about this. And use that Facebook SHARE button. Share the link to our livestream and pray for who might tune in.

We are praying for you, Grace family. “The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”

SONG LINK OF THE WEEK

Christ Our Hope in Life and Death

What is our hope in life and death?
Christ alone, Christ alone.
What is our only confidence?
That our souls to him belong.
Who holds our days within his hand?
What comes, apart from his command?
And what will keep us to the end?
The love of Christ, in which we stand.

O sing hallelujah!
Our hope springs eternal;
O sing hallelujah!
Now and ever we confess
Christ our hope in life and death.

What truth can calm the troubled soul?
God is good, God is good.
Where is his grace and goodness known?
In our great Redeemer’s blood.
Who holds our faith when fears arise?
Who stands above the stormy trial?
Who sends the waves that bring us nigh
Unto the shore, the rock of Christ?

O sing hallelujah!
Our hope springs eternal;
O sing hallelujah!
Now and ever we confess
Christ our hope in life and death.

Unto the grave, what shall we sing?
“Christ, he lives; Christ, he lives!”
And what reward will heaven bring?
Everlasting life with him.
There we will rise to meet the Lord,
Then sin and death will be destroyed,
And we will feast in endless joy,
When Christ is ours forevermore.

O sing hallelujah!
Now and ever we confess
Christ our hope in life and death.
